Alchemy 101

At its most basic understanding, alchemy is the philosophy of transformation of lead into gold. Studied since ancient times, with manuscripts dating back thousands of years, Alchemy is said to have originated in Egypt, in the lands of Khem, the birthplace of modern chemistry as well. These lands were known to be black and covered with fertile soils, abundant in gold. The ancient manuscripts of alchemy were studied through four thousand years and 3 continents. The occult association with these transcripts became shrouded in mystery and cryptic language and symbology. Most alchemists agreed to two basic branches of alchemy; one being the physical understanding, which speaks to the material transformation of the most basic metal lead into the noble and most high metal gold. The other is spiritual alchemy, which discusses more esoterically the inner & psycho spiritual transformation that occurs within us as we grow, evolve, and transmute personal challenges in our lives.

Through the centuries, alchemists symbolized lead with being possessed by demons or the unconscious because it would become poisonous under heat. Yet gold became a highly revered object which could be placed under heat without tarnishing, rusting, or losing any of its integrity. Gold would become soft and pliable, and virtually indestructible. Whereas lead became dense, hard, and bitter, losing its qualities. Jabir Ibn Hayyan, one of the most famous alchemists, discussed in his texts that gold must be a symbol of the soul, especially of that a soul awakened to its own indestructible qualities.

Here, we ask you to trust in your own process to heal. The path to which may not be pretty, but completely necessary in your life as you transmute and alchemize your traumas into wisdoms. You will always be supported and taken care of in this process, but we cannot do the work for you. This is an act of self to go into the fire and allow that which is indestructible within you to be found, and forged into gold.
